Alexandra LOEWE

La pratique multimédia d’Alexandra Loewe (performance, installation, vidéo, mail art...) nous mène dans les contrées d’un langage dyadique où le conscient et l’inconscient, le corps incarné et l’esprit, le temps linéaire et l’aléatoire se rencontrent.

Alexandra Loewe a étudié à l’Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques et d’Architecture Intérieure Met de Penninghen à Paris entre 1995 et 1999. En 1998, elle est en échange ERASMUS à la University of Art and Design Helsinki en Finlande. En 1999-2000 s’ensuit un passage au California College of Arts and Crafts de San Francisco aux Etats-Unis. Elle résidera aux Etats-Unis jusqu’en 2004, y exerçant le métier de directrice de création dans une agence de communication visuelle. En parallèle, elle mène une vie artistique active en participant à des expositions et en co-organisant avec un groupe d’artistes des événements à Chicago. En 2005, elle revient en France pour se consacrer à sa pratique artistique à temps complet.

Depuis 2001, le travail d’Alexandra Loewe a été exposé aux Pays-Bas, en Allemagne, aux États-Unis, en France, en Nouvelle Calédonie, en Algérie et aux Émirats Arabes Unis.

Alexandra Loewe’s multimedia practice (performance, video, installation, mail art...) leads us into the realm of a dyadic language, where the conscious and the unconscious, the incarnate body and the spirit, linear time and randomness meet.

Alexandra Loewe graduated from ESAG Penninghen in Paris in 1999. In 1998, she was an exchange student at the University of Art and Design of Helsinki (Finland). In 1999/2000, she studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts in San Francisco. She lived in the United States until 2004, working as Creative Director in an international visual communication agency. In parallel, she led an active artistic life, taking part in exhibitions and co-curating events with a group of artists in Chicago. In 2005, she returned to France to devote herself full-time to her artistic practice.

Since 2001, Alexandra Loewe’s work has been shown in the Netherlands, Germany, the U.S., France, New Caledonia, Algeria and the United Arab Emirates.
