Bruxelles
After graduating from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in M.Sc. Chemistry, I started a Ph.D. thesis in Chemistry in the framework of a collaborative research project between the ULB and the Universiteit Antwerpen. The topic of this work was CO2 conversion with plasma, which represents one of the most promising paths for tackling the increasing emissions of this greenhouse gas. Instead of considering CO2 as a waste, we used it as a reactant leading to the formation of value-added products. This new perspective made the project very entertaining and interesting. I concluded my joint Ph.D. last year, and I am now finishing a postdoctoral research project at the ULB. The project is an industrial collaboration on the surface treatment of painted metals.
The experience acquired throughout these works allowed me to develop numerous technical skills, particularly in chemical analysis. I also successfully designed new experimental and theoretical methods during my thesis.
After spending the last 5 years in academic research, my objective is now to make my way to the industrial world, where I hope to find new challenges and opportunities in my career. I am highly motivated and wish to join a dynamic company in which I could build on my experience with structured and rigorous work environments. In addition to being a methodical and self-taught individual, I am also a very sociable person, which allows me to enjoy undertaking both independent tasks and team projects. I am, more specifically, very interested in material science and technology.
Outside of work, what I really appreciate is discovering and creating new things. Travelling to new places, baking, Do-It-Yourself (like models or puzzle) and playing piano (12 years in academy) are some of the activities that I spend my free time on. Team sports (like basketball), squash and windsurfing are also some of my hobbies.
