After a PhD in Immunology, where I studied B-cell development in mice, and a postdoctoral position at Montana State University, where I worked at the interface of immunology and microbiology with a category B agent in BSL3 enviornment, I joined Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute to understand HIV and HIV reservoir, developing an assay to reactivated the dormant virus in CD4. When the lab moved to Cleveland, I decided to join the lab of Ted Ross and study Influenza virus. As is common knowledge, the vaccine against influenza is not protective every year due to mutation in the virus. Dr. Ted Ross's lab works toward improving the vaccine against Hemaglutinin and I study the potential for neuraminidase to elicit protective antibodies.
