I am in charge of an Analytical Team (2 Technical Managers, 8 R&D analysts, analysts and technicians) in which we develop and validate methods for the characterisation of biopharmaceuticals, among which recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies. State-of-the-art analytical techniques - such as mass spectrometry (ESI-QTOF, MALDI-TOF, ...), UPLC, capillary electrophoresis, light scattering (MALLS, DLS), AF4 (Field-Flow Fractionation), circular dichroism, ... - are used to meet the expectations of authorities (EMEA, FDA, ...).
Biopharmaceuticals characterisation is one of our main activity: study of protein aggregation, analysis of protein glycosylation, primary and higher-order structures analysis, ...
We also perform QC / release testing and stability studies on biopharmaceuticals (Phase I to Phase III, as well as commercialised products) under strict GMP regulations.
A part of my work consists in writing quotations and Technical Agreements to answer requests from customers.
I also have the opportunity to present the work done at Quality Assistance in international conferences (ASMS, LC/MS Montreux) and in seminars organised by suppliers of scientific equipment.
Our expertise on monoclonal antibodies analysis allowed us to publish our work in Methods in Molecular Biology (Therapeutic antibody glycosylation analysis: a contract research organization perspective in the frame of batch release or comparability support, Delobel et al, Methods Mol Biol. 2013;988:115-43).

Within the Macromolecules department, I was in charge of the supervision of the work done in the lab for the characterisation and analysis of biopharmaceuticals.
My main activities were to contact customers to give them regular update on their projects, supervise the analyses in the lab, do some troubleshooting, review reports before their approval by the team manager, ...

As R&D Analyst in the R&D Department, I was responsible for the implementation of new analytical techniques at Quality Assistance, such as mass spectrometry and light scattering. The goal was to extend the expertise of Quality Assistance in the physico-chemical analysis of biopharmaceuticals.
