  • EDF Energy - Engineer

    Paris 2010 - maintenant
  • Sofinel - Mechanical component engineering deputy team manager

2008 - 2010 - Context: 30 engineers responsible for the technical surveillance and the contractual follow-up of electro-mechanical components intended to fit Olkiluoto 3 (as sub-contractor of Areva NP) as well as Flamanville 3 and Penly 3 (as sub-contractor of EDF).
    - Support for the management of 15 engineers responsible for: fuel handling systems, spent fuel cask handling facility, polar crane and high-safety handling devices, equipment hatch and airlocks to access the reactor building, elevators and miscellaneous handling devices.
    - Defined and scheduled activities of engineers and kept track of their progress.
    - Managed workload and skills.
    - Verified deliverables drawn up by engineers: technical specifications, surveillance plans, system design manuals, system commissioning plans and procedures, review sheets, etc.
    - Chaired design reviews, validated derogations as well as non-conformances and managed the implementation of modifications.
    - Implemented methods for drafting technical specifications for Penly 3 and UK EPR with consideration of feedback of previous EPR Projects to secure time schedule, interfaces and quality.
  • Sofinel - Technical lead for Olkiluoto 3 Refueling Machine and Centralized Control Units

2004 - 2008 - Responsible for the refueling machine and the centralized control units for fuel handling systems, reporting directly to Areva NP.
    - Drafted basic design documentation: technical specifications, technical bid appraisal, etc.
    - Surveillance of the sub-contracted detailed design and the “Construction Plan” before submission to the Finnish Nuclear Safety Authority STUK.
    - Drafted upstream documentation for the design of safety I&C systems for fuel handling systems, notably: the postulated initiating events jeopardizing nuclear safety functions which are recovered by the safety I&C and the list of I&C functions (including reaction times, sensors and actuators as well as the justification of their safety classification).
    - Deeply supported I&C experts of Areva NP for the justification to the Finnish Nuclear Safety Authority STUK of the design of safety I&C systems for fuel handling systems, notably: FMEA, SIL analysis, common cause failure analysis.
  • EDF - Project Manager for N4 Fuel Handling Systems

Paris 2000 - 2004 - Project manager and technical lead for the refurbishment of the refueling machine and refueling assistance tool: modification of the gripper for fuel assemblies and implementation of additional functions in the I&C systems.
    - Project manager and technical lead for the refurbishment of the spent fuel cask transfer facility: modification of the fluid circuits to reduce accumulation of contamination and replacement of the programmable logic controller.
    - Surveillance of sub-contracted detailed design and follow-up of both contracts from the feasibility study until the preparation of site works: prepared bids intended to EDF Operation Department, drafted technical specifications for sub-contracted detailed design and its surveillance and managed interfaces with interacting engineering disciplines.
    - Drafted operational procedures and related follow-up documentation (records) for the first transfer of irradiated fuel assemblies out from Chooz nuclear power plant.
