Bertrand Fournier Montgieux is Associate Director in the management team of InfraMed Infrastructure, an investment fund dedicated to the development of infrastructures on the Southern and Eastern shores of the Mediterranean.
Prior to InfraMed, Bertrand worked as a lawyer in international top-tier law firms (Clifford Chance and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe), in Paris and Casablanca. Bertrand has 8 years of experience in project development and project financing in the energy and infrastructure sectors in Africa and Europe. As a lawyer, he advised sponsors (both corporates and investment funds), lenders and public entities in drafting and negotiating project finance documents for major infrastructure transactions.
His experience includes a wide range of public-private partnerships for the financing, construction and maintenance of essential public infrastructures such as schools, university buildings, telecommunications networks, ports, airports and high speed railway lines. Bertrand has also a significant experience in both large and small-scale energy projects (including wind farms, solar plants and gas- and oil-fired power plants) in France, Morocco and Cameroun.
Before practicing law, Bertrand worked for two years as an Analyst in the risk management department of Dexia Credit Local, where he reviewed counterparty risk in the granting of loans to French schools, hospitals and health and social institutions.
