• Renault S.A.S. - Internship

  2010 - 2010 Technical and economical evaluation of the Second Life project for Li-ion Batteries.
  
  Follow up of the Lithium, Batteries and Renewable Energies markets in order to introduce the Second Life Battery.
  
  Definition of the potential clients' requirements by interviewing.
  
  Definition of the required reconditioning operations of the First Life Battery (electrical vehicle application) to be used in a Second Life (stationary) application determining the related costs.

• Occidental de Colombia, Inc. - Inspection Supervisor and Mechanical Integrity Engineer

  2006 - 2008 Responsible for the planning, development, and technical evaluation of the preventive and predictive maintenance plans (inspections) of the static equipments (pressure vessels, pipelines, storage tanks and structures) of the facilities in Caño Limon, Arauca, Colombia.
  
  Responsible of the updating and follow-ups of the internal mechanical integrity (QA/QC) policies according to the engineering standards (ASME, API, etc.)
  
  Responsible of the quality assurance and quality control of all the inspections programs.
  
  As a principal achievement, during the 2007 quality and HSE general assessment, the QA/QC evaluation got the "meet expectations" which is the higher qualification. Occidental de Colombia, Inc, was the first company of the group Occidental Oil and Gas Company in achieve that qualification ever. The QA/QC preparation was under my responsibility and with the correct organization, we obtained such a qualification.

• Occidental de Colombia, Inc. - Maintenance Technical Support

  2005 - 2006 Responsible of the follow-up, logistics and quality control of the external maintenance activities (with external companies in Bogota) of special machines.
  
  Technical support for the Field Maintenance and Electrical Generation departments.
  
  Development of internal maintenance projects (spare parts designing).
  
  During this first professional experience, with the support of the maintenance and power generation engineers, i achieved to develop some spare parts for the diesel engines used for the power generation in the field (8MW), reducing the maintenances yearly costs in 1 M$/year (carter air filters, exhaust, joints, shims, etc).
  
  With the support of the field maintenance engineers, I achieved to reduced the costs (500 K$/year)of the general maintenance in control valves, developing a re-utilizable metallic seal for the 24 to 36 inches valves.

• Occidental de Colombia, Inc. - Intership

  2004 - 2005 Responsible of the start-up protocols of two 8MW power generators
  
  Development of the final project to obtain the engineering degree. “Development of a data acquisition and indicated power calculation system for medium speed and high power diesel engines”.
  
  The tool that I developed during this internship, as my final project replaced a 150 K$ equipment used for the monitoring of the thermodynamic data of one cylinder of a diesel engine, but some advantages as the possibility of an online monitoring of all the cylinders of all the engines of the power plant is possible, improving the performance, reducing the combustible consumption and improving the engines’ operation conditions.
