2008 - 2009Valenite Safety is one of Sandvik’s leading brands of cemented carbide metal cutting tools. It is the result of a recent merger between Valenite (US based) and Safety (European based). Reporting directly to Valenite Safety’s President, who is based in Detroit, I have broad responsibilities over half of the company’s P&L: sales in excess of 60 M€ and 160 employees in 4 Countries, and Export in several others.
A key member of the Executive Team, I contribute actively to the definition of our strategy and implement its execution in Europe.
Barnes Group france
- General Manager
2001 - 2008Barnes Group France (34 Million Euros) is a consumables distributor for the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul market (MRO). With a total staff of 240, which includes a sales force in excess of 200 reps, Barnes serves two distinct markets: Industrial MRO and Automotive MRO (aftermarket).
I had full P&L responsibility with a high level of autonomy in designing the strategy and leading its execution. I successfully developped Barnes Group France by systematically top-grading all the recruitments, introducing Lean and Six Sigma projects to improve productivity and reduce operating costs and by focusing the strategy on highly differentiated, value-added services.
In just over 5 years, I have grown my business 32% organically and then further doubled its size through an acquisition. Our double digit organic growth rate alone was, in 2004 and 2005 the highest of Barnes Distribution worldwide.
