Project : « Chronic cerebral hypoperfusion in the rats and its consequences »
Competency : Microsurgery • Immunology • Histology • Microscopic and MRI Analyses •
Blood-Brain Barrier • Alzheimer's Disease • Participation in International Conferences • Publications
The main focus of my research was the link between vascular risk factors associated with blood-brain barrier integrity and the development of white and grey matter damage in the brain with time, in the model of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion which has been hypothesised to be the main cause of the development of severe forms of dementia, in particular Alzheimer’s disease. I am also interested in understanding the possible mechanisms of pathology using imaging (MRI) and biochemistry techniques in Neurodegenerative Diseases, to try to understand which target can represent a potential interest for therapeutic treatment.
