    - Busways: 3 R&D centers located in USA (Oxford), China (Guangzhou) and France (Grenoble).
    - Low Voltage Switchboards and Panelboards: 6 R&D centers located in USA (Smyrna and Seneca), Brazil (Sumaré), China (Shanghai), France (Grenoble) and India (Bangalore)
    - Universal enclosures: 3 R&D centers located in Spain (Barcelona), Italy (Bergamo) and France (Sarre Union).
    - Outdoors equipments: 3 R&D centers located in France (X2) and USA (Smyrna).

  • Schneider Electric - Installation System R&D Manager

    Rueil Malmaison 2005 - 2009 Management of all Schneider Electric primary Medium Voltage cubicles and Low Voltage switchboards: 18 different ranges located in Australia (Melbourne), Brazil (Sumaré), China (Shanghaï), Egypt (Cairo), France (Grenoble), India (Bangalore), Mexico (Monterey), Turkey (Izmir), Italy (Stezzano), Spain (Mungia), Sweden (Sollentuna), USA (Smyrna).

    Those activities involve 12 development centers and more than 20 adaptation centers. The offers provided go from 0 to 52 kV, 0 to 6000A and are MV air insulated switchgears, MV gas insulated switchgears or large sites LV panelboards. Various activities as :
    - Offer improvement: high internal arc withstand, low cost drawers …
    - Continuous Engineering: from quality insurance to quality and value engineering, those activities slash the none-quality and increase the profitability.
    -Panel Builders management: growing our market shares through partnership with local panelbuilders.
    - Anticipation: development of new concepts for the next installation systems ranges.

    2007 Direct turnover of all those business lines is about 650 M€ (estimated 2008 growth: +25%) Attracted turnover is about 2 times higher. The annual budget for new developments and continuous engineering is about 10M€ and it involves 70 peoples.
  • Schneider Electric - Project Manager

    Rueil Malmaison 2001 - 2005 Management of the project “Direct Current Protection and Control”: The increasing demand for protection and control in DC power networks can’t be satisfied with the current Schneider Electric products offer. In this project, four DC markets are targeted :
    - Embedded automotive networks: The project team has built an electromagnetic apparatus called Battery Disconnect Switch for our subsidiary “Crouzet”. This device fulfils all the automotive market values (low cost, small size, re-engineering capabilities…). This study is a partnership with a French car parts manufacturer (Valéo).Targeted turnover: 1,5 M€.
    - Telecom and Data centers: Further to an internal market study, we decided to develop a new remote controller for the Schneider final low voltage products ranges. This work was done in order to increase our market shares in Telecom and Data centers protection panels (replacing the fuses). Targeted turnover : 2M€ (direct), 20M€ (indirect)
    - Aeronautics: Various technical assessments were realized in order to increase the performances and quality of the aeronautic 28Vdc circuit breakers offer.
    - Micro generation : Several products (internal and external) were tested, approved and validated in order to answer to the 400-800 Vdc micro-generation networks needs.

    This 3 years long project had involved from 3 to 10 people with a 3M€ total budget.

    Technical assessments for the Schneider Electric acquisitions & alliances process : I have done two technical assessments for the acquisitions & alliances team and several others for the Schneider Electric Venture (SEV) investment fund :
    - DRYADES: The targeted society provides circuit breakers and contactors for the railway market. This society was not acquired.
    - REX: The targeted society (Magnecraft) provides various relays for the Automation & control market. This society was acquired in the last 2004 quarter (Turnover : 14M$)
    - SEV: My contribution to Schneider Electric Venture team was focused on the Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) domain.

    6 Sigma project: After a Green belt training course in 2004, I have piloted a 6 Sigma project in the Schneider Electric Research team. The aim of this project was to increase the transfer rate of the technical deliverables created in the Research group to the Business Unit.
  • Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble - Researcher & Teacher

    Grenoble 1998 - 2001 Researcher: Thanks to a four team partnership (tree public laboratories and a private society), we have designed a low cost electromechanical energy storage device (Flywheel). Two markets were targeted:
    1-Power load leveling for a home applications
    2-Energy storage for telecom isolated sites applications
    The project was sliced in four Work Packages:
    1-the motor / generator
    2-the flywheel and the enclosure
    3-the magnetic bearings and 4-the vacuum control
    My job was to study the WP n°3 and to validate a low cost Virtual Zero Power magnetic bearing. Thus in order to minimize the standby energy consumption.

    Teacher: I have given two training courses for the “Université Joseph Fourrier of Grenoble”. The first one concerned the electromagnetic motors (Synchronous, Asynchronous and Direct Current). And the second one is an introduction to the analogical and digital electronic. Another training course was done for the engineering school “ISTG” one the use of the electromagnetic modeling CAD software “Flux2D&3D”.

    Designer: I have designed a passive magnetic bearing for the SAGEM society. The need was to simulate and characterize high performances low cost and low power magnetic bearings. Those bearings are used in the ultracentrifuge stages for the uranium enrichment process.
