Fokion SPANOS

7 years of research experience in molecular and cellular biology research. I have now completed my PhD degree, During my project, I investigated bacteria-mediated intestinal Parkinson's disease using in vitro models.

I developed iPSC-derived macrophage/peripheral neuron co-cultures, enteroendocrine-peripheral neuron co-cultures in microfluidics, intestinal organoids in 3D ECM domes. I am an expert in bacterial cloning and culture, protein purification, Western blot, qPCR, immunostaining and imaging. Over the course of my studies, I have guided five indepedent research projects, collaborated with Europen laboratories, and worked in worldwide consortium of Aligning Science Across Parkinson's.

I am currently looking for a job in R&D in biology to tackle modern health and societal problems.
