Credit analyst for British Petroleum, Oil Retail Portfolio, UK
•Detailed analysis of customers based on all data available to evaluate the degree of trading risk;
•In depth analysis of financial statements (P&L, Balance sheet, Cash flow statement) in order to evaluate the going concern of customers in the various portfolios;
•Mitigation of exposure by setting up various securities including: Letters of Credit, Bank guarantees and Legal charges;
•Analyzing client portfolio, turnover client behaviour and performing BP level 1, 2 and 3 credit review;
• Follow up of KPI and reporting to management, implementing BP risk policy and analysis of the portfolio;
•Monitor business partners up to £20M exposure and minimize risk of default;
•Bimonthly call with Sales, Legal and credit management for follow up o issues;
•Timely review of customer data and the preparation of credit recommendations, especially for new accounts;
3 intensive trainings attended at BP finnacial university: Credit Intermediate Workshop, Credit advanced Workshop and Unlocking Cash Decisions
• Cover how to implement internal credit compliance procedures with particular reference to the practical application of Expected Loss Limits, Maximum Exposure Limit & Customer Credit Limits;
• Undertake comprehensive credit assessments of customers with larger credit exposures by using a range of advanced credit, financial & strategic management techniques;
• Develop and practice skills relating to influencing, communication and negotiating to enable the delegates to be effective credit ambassadors for BP ;
• Deep understanding of cash drivers and working capital evaluation.
