En résumé

More than 30 years of experience in the field of IP in a large international company for which innovation and valorization of IP assets are a successful business.
The various positions I have held enabled me to develop strong experience in the fields of IP assets assessments, negotiations with third parties (US, European and Asian) about the value of these assets (i.e. during Licensing and Out discussions) and the defense against the attacks of third parties based on supposed infringement of their IP rights.

This experience gives me skills for providing counsels to entities ( from small to large size ) in the IP domains for :
 Definition of an innovation strategy
 Internal organization / subcontracting
 Establishment of procedures for the internal management of IP
 Definition of a strategy for valuing innovations and means for implementing such strategies (Licensing Out, Partnership ...)
 Defense of the Company from Third Party Attacks (Licensing In)
 Risk management assistance
 Assistance in the valuation of IP rights, either for sale or for acquisition.
IP training for internal staff, Universities or Engineering Schools

  • Technicolor - Director IP Evaluation

    Issy-les-Moulineaux 2005 - 2016 o Patent portfolios valorization (Displays, Semiconductors) in view of :
     Identification of infringed inventions
     Creation of the evidences of use (Claim Chart Proofs)
     Legal and Technical Discussion of Claim Chart proofs with targeted potential licensees (mainly in US/Japan/Korea/Taiwan and China) .

    o Evaluation and acquisition of IP assets for strengthening the Company's own generated patents portfolios and feeding the licensing programs:
     Targets Identification
     Assessment of the targetted IP assets.
     Set up of business plan in the frame of the potential IP assets acquisition
     Negotiation with the targets in view of acquisition

  • Thomson multimedia - Senior Patent Counsel

    1984 - 2005 Various positions within the Intellectual Property and Licensing Department of Thomson/Technicolor and its subsidiaries.

    As a senior patent Counsel, I have been in charge of Patent Prosecutions with significant experience in all phases of European and foreign practices ( US, JP, KR, CN etc), Infringement analysis , patents assertions ( Licensing Out) and defense against infringement assertions of third parties ( Licensing In).

  • Thomson CSF - Trianing Director

    1981 - 1984 Je dirigeais une équipe d'ingénieurs-formateurs (3) dont le role était de former en interne les techniciens/ingénieurs de Thomson CSF dans les métiers de l'electronique et de l'informatique.
