Jacques Manem, Ph.D. Environmental Engineering, has more than 35 years of experience in the water business in one of the world leader.
He started his career in applied research and development in the area of biological treatment for water and wastewater including membrane bio-reactors and fixed film, and innovative sludge treatment processes in collaboration with Dregremont.
After 7 years as Department Head, Biological Treatment Research & Development, CIRSEE (SUEZ), France, he headed an Applied Research Centre based in Malaysia that covered the Asia Pacific region.
In this role, as the CEO of ASTRAN (SUEZ Asia Pacific Technology and Research Network) he was directly responsible for coordinating multi-national teams in the region, and for overseeing and directing technical and research projects for SUEZ Asia Pacific operations.
ASTRAN was also the expertise centre in water resource for the SUEZ Group.
Since 2001, turning his hand to Operations, he has accumulated outstanding experiences as the Operation Manager / Director of major projects in very diverse countries, cultural context and work conditions such as Palestine, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and India.
In 2011, Dr. Jacques Manem was appointed Chief Operating Officer of SUEZ India.
Despite a presence in India for over 10 years, no significant contracts had been won. From 2011 to 2014, he implemented a strategy of client proximity and customer focus specifically adapted to India – culminating in the award of five contracts in Delhi, Bangalore, Pimpri and Mumbai with a total contract value of more than €120 Million.
Jacques was appointed President Director of PALYJA in August 2014 , SUEZ subsiduary for the concession contract of the West Jakarta and Director of Operations for SUEZ in South East Asia in 2015.
In his journey, Dr. Jacques Manem has accumulated vast experience and knowledge in managing an organisation, building strong relationships with clients and partners, winning and delivering projects, and mobilising, training and mentoring teams to deliver outstanding outcomes.
