Jean Elie THYS is with UNEP-Haiti since october, 2009, he was consultant for the Technical Assistant Facility (TAF), he was also community liaison coordinator and he is at present the coordinator of terrestrial ecosystems. His work with UNEP focuses on the management of protected areas, agroforestery, sustainable energy and the green economy. He has more than 20 years of experience in community development and natural resources management with national and international organizations. He participated in the creation and in the strengthening of numerous community organizations. Before joining UNEP, he worked in Dominican Republic as coordinator of natural resources and agronomy within the framewok of a binational project(Haiti-Dominican Republic) with GIZ. He hols a BSc in agronomy from the American University of the Caribbean(AUC) in Haiti and a master in natural resources from Universidad Pedro Henríquez Ureña(UNPHU) in Dominican Republic.
