    2006 - 2007 •Worked on a data warehouse project. My role involved the design and production of scheduled reports and well as ad hoc reports for both the business and the finance department.

    •This included modelling monthly financial accounting processes including budgeting and forecasting.

    •Documented requirements and processes for producing triangulations.

    •Managed the co-operation of key personnel from finance, underwriting, actuarial and systems department to ensure the smooth flow of information and communication of requirements as well as planning delivery between these departments concerning the financial accounting side of the Data Warehouse project.

    •Used MS Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Business Objects, Sagent, Eclipse and I90 (UW) Excel VBA and Access.
  • Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co (Europe) Ltd - Paris / London - Systems - project accountant

    2004 - 2006 •Redesigned the financial accounting system and processes for the French branch of this Japanese insurance company.

    •Resolved several major post merger problems including management and interdepartmental conflicts.

    •Redesigned the entire accounting processes and the reporting timetables.

    •Due to ongoing changes I designed and constructed a technical model to calculate outwards reinsurance.

    •After successfully redesigning the financial accounting processes for the French branch I was in charge of planning a project to re-implement their financial accounting system (Oracle Financials) for the entire European operations. This included a detailed study of their Chart of accounts and accounting processes as well as putting together all the financial accounting and reporting requirements

    •I planned the blueprint for this project and organised key players and stakeholders in so that essential decisions could be taken.

    •Part of this project was to ensure that the financial accounting systems and processes were SOX and IFRS compliant.

    •I used Agresso Oracle Financilas, BelAir(UW), Excel and Access VB / VBA.
