As a System engineer my mission is to implement and master quality process by
insuring:
* Organise and supervise with System Director engineering activities (Signaling, low
voltage, high voltage,..) according to system engineering V cycle
* Manage and prepare with Test and commissioning manager the integration and
validation of test and commissioning activities.
* Validate with Test and commissioning manager the plans and test procedures of the
participating subsystems (rolling stock, track, low & high voltage systems, signaling,
ticketing, AVL-RTPI systems, CCTV, BMS, W-LAN, RADIO, CTM, CCS, OCL, tri colour
luminous signals ...)
* Plan and coordinate the site tests of subsystems ;
* Review consistency between subsystems, system and the project master schedule ;
* Manage system configuration during the successive project's phases
* Follow up and monitoring project's interfaces and battery limits
* Insure Project's change & Configuration Management (from As Designed- As Installed
to As Built Configuration)
* Follow up and monitoring engineering documents delivery.
* In charge of preparing and delivery of Final documentation to client (AS-built
documents, installation documents, training documents, constructor documents,
maintenance document,...)
* Control the technical consistency through a strong interfaces management and quality,
cost and delays approach.
* Obtain client satisfaction through requirements management
* Apply and verify engineering methods and tools ;
* Manage requirements verification process
* Insure Quality management ;
* Insure non-conformities and Punch List management ;
* Produce competitive analysis and technical risk analysis
* Manage the integration and validation of test and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities
A. Manage configuration issues during all project phases:
1. Analyse configuration management requirements from the customer and internally
from ALSTOM entities
* Identify work products placed under configuration management from PBS
(Product Breakdown Structure)
* Identify configuration items dependencies constraints.
2. Define, create, publish and establish configuration base lines : Gather and manage
necessary information from Sub-Systems and suppliers
3. Establish and maintain project configuration management plan :
* Apply standard process of involved product line ;
* Ensure respect of naming conventions and versioning scheme
* Create the configuration management plan on the basis of engineering
management plan
* Consolidate project with sub-projects' configuration management plans
* Obtain customer approval of the Configuration Management Plan
4. Interface with CCN PLM concerning project needs in terms of IT tools managing
configuration
* Evaluate project needs in term of configuration management tools
* Provide support to configuration management system users
B. Manage change requests and related issues during all project phases:
1. Manages application of standard change management process
* Before approval of the change order, review Change Requests and assign
Change Requests to Change Analyst and CCB approval.
* After approval of the change order, ensure that action plans are built and
follows then their execution
* Within the framework of my functions, participate in technical
consultations, keeps overview of the scope, follow up application of
changes and ensures REX of modification process application to the owner
of the process
2. Coordinate all stakeholders on change issues
* Interfaces with Sub-Systems and supplier teams in order to analyse impact of
Sub-Systems changes on train design
* Informs Sub-Systems and supplier teams about changes decided at integrator
site.
* Informs Validation Manager about all changes and follows potential update of
Validation Plan
* Coordinates actions among all project stakeholders (Technical team,
Industrial team, Manufacturing team)
3. Organize and chair meetings of the Change Control Board
4. carry out change management activities with respect of QCD objectives, defined by
the Project Manager
- Q: Apply as defined, manage risk of deviation ;
- C: Optimize application, check respect of cost objective with cost manager ;
- D: Reduce global application time of Change Orders, avoid additional
delays at consultation, production,
C. Ensure all necessary information about train applicable configuration is
available to all project's teams.
D. Manage Requirements (Responsible of the deployment and execution of
the Requirements Management process):
1. Planning and Monitoring activities:
* Creating and maintaining a Requirements Management Plan
* Deploying an operational Requirements Management System
* Evaluating people skills and their involvement in the process
* Monitoring and controlling activities and evaluating process performance.
2. Requirements collection and identification activities:
* Capturing requirements ;
* Identifying and characterizing requirements.
3. Requirements clarification: Getting a common understanding between
Requirements Provider and Receiver.
4. Perform requirements analysis, development and allocation activities:
* Make a gap analysis, impact and risk evaluation ;
* negotiation between Requirements Provider and Receiver
* Requirements' creation and modification, and maintenance of the traceability.
5. Requirements verification and validation: Checking requirements phrasing,
completeness, consistency, traceability, coverage, and implementation.
6. Managing requirements configuration and change management activities (manage
changes on Requirements Management configuration items all along requirements
development and allocation, from project level to lowest levels).
