  • Kaiser Permanente - Senior Sourcing Director

    2007 - 2011 2010-2011: Senior Sourcing Director
    => Responsible for conducting a make or buy analysis of the company's Group
    Purchasing organization (GPO), outsourced partner supporting the contracting process for $1.6B/y of Medical spend (cardiology, orthopedics, surgical, imaging, etc.). The analysis led to a recommendation to renew existing relationship.
    => Lead and manage a 5 people sourcing team overseeing contracting and sourcing for medical spend categories (imaging, physiological monitoring, lab - ~$500M/y).
    Delivered savings of about 6-8% of annual spend sourced (20% over target), increased diversity spend by $6M+, and oversaw the publication of 12 green success stories in 2011.
    => Directly lead the sourcing and contract implementation for the medical/surgical distribution category ($320M/y of distributed products, $17M of distribution costs). Delivered market leading Service Level Agreements to ensure better performance, 18% savings, and a diversity partnership on track to deliver $8.5M of diverse spend in 2012.

    2008-2010: Sourcing Director
    => Lead and manage a 4 people sourcing team overseeing contracting and sourcing for indirect spend categories (travel, print, marketing, transportation, etc. - ~$700M/y)
    => Turned team around to more than double savings delivery from $7 to $15M/year by refocusing team on critical few and executing sourcing process effectively.
    => Renewed the relationship with GPO to ensure enhanced support for outsourced partner.

    2007-2008: Sourcing manager
    Responsible for the cardiology spend (~4100M/y). Delivered $8M in savings. Engaged supplier base in innovative way by created first of its kind supplier conference in the organization.
  • Beckman Coulter - Principal Procurement Specialist

    Villepinte 2005 - 2007 Responsible for the implementation of seven steps strategic sourcing process across multiple decentralized business units in the USA.
    Spend in scope: 1.0B.
    Identified savings: $50M across 22 categories.
    Executed several waves of strategic sourcing delivering 12-15% in savings based on the category.
    Trained 150+ people on sourcing methodology.
  • Rain Bird - Sourcing Specialist

    2003 - 2005 Led sourcing for the $5M buy-out category delivering 10% savings through low cost country sourcing (India, China) and supplier base consolidation (60 to 40)
  • Capstone Turbine - Buyer then Logistics Manager

    2001 - 2003 As a Logistics manager, oversaw a team of 18 people responsible for receiving, warehousing, inventory management and shipping.
    Improved inventory accuracy from 96.5% to 99.4% within 6 months, created SOPs for all departements.

    As a buyer, sourced and contracted for mechanical parts (~1M/Y). Responsible for day to day/tactical procurement.
    Created department pruchasing dashboard to monitor KPIs and improve performance.
  • Mack Trucks (Now Volvo Trucks) - Buyer

    1999 - 2001 Reponsible for global sourcing for turbo charger and other engine castings.
    Delivered 6% savings in the category and actively participated in new engine ddevelopment projects on behalf of the purchasing team.
