Luc Vandeputte has more than 37 years of experience throughout challenging organizational and managerial functions. Missions in over 55 countries have forged a solid experience of event and project management in multicultural environments. Networking oriented, passionate for sport, He privileges a transversal approach, guided by the sports values, for the excellence of projects in the socio-economic sector of sport and recreation. Since late 2011, his approach is inspired by resilience and circular economy.
Luc Vandeputte joined Sport Interface International in 2002. He specialized in setting up multidisciplinary team in the sector of sport and leisure. From strategic analysis up to urban and real estate development, he acts in widely diversified areas, from grassroots missions up to top international management consultancies. His transversal approach is even more appreciated in the current economic situation. Well-known companies and prestigious institutions entrusted him challenging projects or missions in the sport and leisure sector. Prior to founding Sport Interface, Luc Vandeputte was the FISU’s Director Summer Universiades. He was responsible for developing a business unit, improving effectiveness of the organising committee’s supervision with expansion of services to about 150 participating countries. Prior to these appointments, Luc Vandeputte served as FISU’s Assistant to the Secretary General (1979 – 1999) and contributed to the expansion of the FISU HQ in Brussels. In this role, he had day-to-day management responsibilities for the organising committee’s supervision and operations of 22 host countries for Summer Universiades (13 sports) and about 20 biennial world championships.
As Sports and Leisure Manager of one of Belgium's largest sports centre (Sports City in Brussels), he also experienced grassroots venue management.
Luc also acts in executive education. He supervises innovative internships for the Advanced Master in Creativity and Marketing. Prior to this is supervised the Executive Programme in Sport Business Management (Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management - ULB Université Libre de Bruxelles). He is senior lecturer in “Organisation and legislation of sport” and Faculty Council Member at the Motricity Sciences Faculty (ULB). Luc is also lecturer in circular economy, stakeholder strategy & networking dynamics and career management (AMOS Sport Business School – Lille & Paris). He serves as expert and tutor for the Executive Master in Sports Organisation Management, endorsed by the International Olympic Committee.
He has keen interest in sports like golf, aïkido, funbaord windsurfing and hiking. Trilingual, he enjoys living in the Capital of Europe.
