My goal is to discover, develop and deliver treatments for people who are affected by neurodegenerative diseases. I’m an expert in Multiple Sclerosis research and in the tools commonly used in MS research – glial cell biology and neuro-immunology. Extensive experience in research management, drug discovery, mentorship, and international project management.

I believe in positive environments that foster collaboration, focus, balance, open-mindedness and innovation. Passionate rock-climber, rugby player and global traveler. I speak Dutch, English and German.

    Lyon 2010 - maintenant • Managed multi-disciplinary in house collaborations to validated drug targets.
    • Reviewed in-licensing opportunities of potential MS drugs.
    • Managed external collaborations with academic institutions.
    • Managed research associates, which involved supervision of their daily activities, experimental planning, and data management.
    • Contributed to the Discovery projects portfolio through the proposal of new potential MS drug targets and evaluation of the scientific literature.
    • Acted as a cellular neurobiology expert on several Discovery Project teams, providing these teams with pivotal data driving the projects forwards.
    • Acted as Quality Delegate for the cellular neurobiology team conducting yearly audits and ensuring high quality standards within the team according to the Merck Serono values.
