Londres2013 - 2016Studying the biology of patrolling Ly6C(low) monocytes. This population has been described as housekeepers of the vasculature, scavenging microparticules in steady state, and recruiting neutrophils in intra-endothelial site of inlammation. The neutrphils in turn kill the endothelial cell, inducing its necrosis. Long term goal: investigate these mechanisms in the heart in the context of ischemia.
