For my last internship linked to my engineering school, I have been selected by Colas Rail to work on the project of the high-speed train service linking Paris to the suburbs ( RER A) between Charles de Gaulle station and Gare de Lyon station. This project concerns the renewal of rails and ballast of the railway between 2015 and 2021. I participate in both preparatory phase and the construction phase.
My mains tasks are based on experience feedback. I investigate points who need to be improved compared to the work phases of the years 2015 and 2016. The optimization angles that I undertake concern the financial aspect, logistics, the planning, or the management of a subcontractor. I suggest recommendations and new angles of attack on what has been achieved in previous years. Also, I must have a critical mind and know how questioning the methods and work organization of the actual preparatory phase and of the next one

I did an internship at Colas Est located in Charleville-Mézières, France, as foreman for a duration of 4 month (May-Sept). I worked in a construction site which costs several million Euros. My main tasks during this work experience was to manage project progress and financial aspect.

For my studies at Polytech Lille, I did my work experience at the company “Colas Est”, located in Reims, France. It was my first steps in the construction world, a venture into the unknown. Thus I decided to do my internship for a period of seven weeks instead 4 in order to acquire as much experience as possible.
During this internship, I learnt a lot about techniques, tests and tools relating to civil engineering. I had the opportunity to work on several construction sites; consequently I saw many difficult situations.
This training period allowed me to discover teamwork and the importance of human relationships in a company.
It was a very constructive experience. In addition, I realize this internship is essential for anybody who wants to run a team or project in the future.
