Nassereddine CHAIB

Nassereddine CHAIB is a Moroccan Collage Artist based in Marrakech, currently studying architecture at the Marrakech national school of architecture (ENAM). The focus of his artistic practice lies with the digital collage. He began drawing and painting, before transitioning to full-time collage and assembly in the 2019, starting with a daily collage narrating a single event that day. Not only because it was fun, but also he was able to quickly work through ideas.
This results in an extremely complex variety of subjects and themes, often exposing the most personal and sensitive moments of the Artist, often posing seemingly banal scenarios or strange daily experiences.
From there it actually bloomed. It formed in an unexpected way which in a voice continues today.

Collage is a language for managing the turmoil of life and seeking an order, beauty and harmony. The artist said.

Nassereddine began to develop his signature style, using some pictures of Moroccans at work back when he was in his 1st year in architecture school in Marrakech. He began to explore more and more over the years, how far he might take it. A significant part of his work is about how he can make the audience receive his message and how to manipulate the pictures that they can get really significant for everyone at any time, despite their cultural background.
Nassereddines work examines people from all lifestyles and from all social strata across the Arab and African world. He is especially enthusiastic about giving glimpses of the lives of people who may normally be ignored or forced to the side in society people living on the fringes, people who are stigmatized and oppressed. As such, he spent time establishing relationships by hanging out in Marrakech streets and with people in marginalized neighborhoods. He gets to know people, in a way begins to live with them, and starts taking photos of them, then turning reality into a piece of realistic collage art.
