New Methods towards the Total Synthesis of Macrocyclic Bisbibenzyl Natural Products
- Organic synthesis, reaction monitoring, isolation and purification of organic compounds. Particular experience in aromatic and benzylic functionalisation, palladium-catalysed cross-couplings.
- Characterisation of organic compounds by NMR (1H, 13C, 19F, 31P), IR, MS, etc.
- Designing and adapting synthetic routes towards a target, optimisation of reactions.
- Teaching in class (chemistry workshop) and in the lab (supervision of placement and undergraduate students, marking of teaching labs reports).
- Taking part in the research group life: organisation of meetings, setting up exercises, updating the chemical list, ordering chemicals and consumables, proofreading reports (quaterly, placement, master theses), proofreading research articles before publication, refereeing research articles on behalf of my supervisor.
