Pier Paolo Pitacco lives and works in Paris and Milan, where he has been at the centre of the biggest publishing events connected with the success of Italian Style since the ‘seventies.
Art director of “Uomo Vogue“ from 1977 through 1979, he held the same position for “Elle Italia“ from 1988 until 1999. He came up with the editorial graphic project for “Io Donna“, a weekly magazine distributed with Il “Corriere della Sera“ (1996), “Cartier Art Magazine“(2002), “Vanity Fair“ Italia (2003), “Elle Russia“(2007) and “Grazia France“ (2009), to mention only a few of his most important projects.
He has worked as image consultant for top Italian and international companies, acting as their interface with advertising, fashion, packaging and corporate design. Pitacco has won 32 international awards and acknowledgements (mainly in the United States) and 23 Italian Art Directors’s Club prizes.
In 2000 he published the volume “Stile Italiano: Twenty years’ graphic design in Italian Fashion“ (Lupetti Editore) in two editions, Italian and English, tracing his career from its origins. His work appears regularly in international specialised publications. A lover of art, photography and music, in 2006 he began developing artistic and design projects drawing on his sensitivity for graphics, colour and the contemporary.
Currently in addition to performing the professional activity of his study, he is artistic director of Rolling Stone Italy.
