Delivered specialist neurological rehabilitation and disability management in an inter-disciplinary setting. Autonomously assessed, treated and managed adult patients with a wide range of neurological diagnoses and impairments. Provided intensive rehabilitation for stroke patients (Early Supported Discharge Service). Conducted detailed assessments of human movement and applied understanding of specific disease pathology in order to formulate appropriate individualised therapy to patients, according to their goals and integration of care from the multidisciplinary team (MDT). Took part in health promotion and teaching patients, such as presenting to newly diagnosed MS patients, teaching exercise practitioners about spasticity, and teaching carers how to promote independence. Service improvement projects included developing a community respiratory care pathway for neurological patients, audits on utilisation of outcome measures, and setting up an MS care pathway (ensuring the team was meeting national standards). Ensured investigation into cases of vulnerable adults (and children). Used a range of outcome measures to evaluate interventions and inform modification of treatment. Referred patients to services where required (Orthotists, FES clinics, Spasticity clinic, community exercise programmes) to promote health and wellbeing in the management of long-term neurological conditions. Alongside these clinical duties, I supported colleagues during problems at work and represented them during grievance, disciplinary and capability procedures as a union represent.

    Neurology rotations: Including acute stroke unit, community rehabilitation and rehabilitation unit. Assessment, treatment and management of clients with a variety of complex neurological conditions. Involvement in Botox’ and Disability clinics. Responsible for in-service training, supervision and appraisals of Junior Physiotherapy staff and Physiotherapy assistants. Supervision of student Physiotherapists. 
    Junior Rotations: 4 monthly rotations; Medical, Out-Patients, Neurological, Orthopaedic, Intensive Care unit and Surgery. Part of Respiratory On –call and weekend rota. Prioritising case load and providing effective physiotherapy treatment following thorough assessment.
