• Helps implement organizational health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations to ensure a healthy, safe and environmentally compliant working environment.
• Monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards and trains employees on health, safety and associated environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Maintains corporate automated security system and employee identification card system; conducts inspections of work area and equipment for compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Ensures employees in each function follow established health, safety and environmental protection procedures and comply with associated federal, state and local regulations
• Responsible for HS&E-related communications, and for providing support to management in the implementation and maintenance of HS&E-related programs, projects and campaigns.
• Provides advice to management on applicable Legal, Business, and Clients requirements, and actions to ensure compliance.
• •Facilitates the conduction, and execution of Risk Assessment Exercises and Coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.
• Liaises with HS&E GeoM Management for the coordination and implementation of various HS&E programs, and initiatives for the district, including Driver Trainers, Prevention Campaigns / Stand-Downs, IVMS, Electrical Safety, Malaria Program, Drills and others.
• Follows-up with local management on the progress of the location’s HSE Plan.
• Provides support in the reporting of incidents, case management, investigation, and completion of incidents in FIRST Alert.
• Performs internal HS&E reviews of his/her area of responsibility, which includes audits and inspections.
• Works with management and local teams to develop procedures based on regulatory and/or client requirements.
• Assists in responding to inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies and/or community groups.
• Works with local management to develop a local HS&E budget and/or HSE provisions for the district.
• Performs environmental reporting as required by the corporate organization.
• Responsible for HS&E Statistics / Tempo Reporting.
• Provides HS&E input for Tenders or new business opportunities.Responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions.
• Coordinates the facility’s HS&E training program.
• Trains employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
• Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHAS 18801) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents, identifying safety measures and providing improvements measures to mitigate risks and impacts.
• Responsible for implementing an Orientation program for visitors, employees, and contractors.
