I qualified as a French avocat in 2014 with an already established pedigree in the international maritime world. Fluent in both English and Spanish, having studied and worked in both these countries, I am also an accomplished transatlantic sailor.
Prior to qualification I worked at the French maritime authority, “Affaires Maritime” and spent 2 years working with Thomas Cooper’s Paris office leading up to my qualification in 2014.
In addition to my legal expertise, my sailing experience allows me to offer in-depth technical knowledge of pleasure and racing yachting, and I am regularly involved in yachting and super yachting matters in France, including court surveyor investigations, covering such matters as fires, dismastings, keel and other ship/yacht building issues for owners, yards, architects and naval engineers.
In yacht racing I had represented teams participating in the Route du Rhum, Jacques Vabre and the Vendée Globe amongst others.
My experience also encompasses maritime personal injury, both crew and passenger claims, for large cruise operators.
I am also frequently involved in sea, fluvial, road and rail carriage disputes as well as casualties involving salvage and collisions. Finally I am regularly involved in ship arrests and other conservatory proceedings in France.
