  Scope:
  
  * Directing a team of eight HOD's (Heads of Department) who are in turn
  responsible for their subordinates consisting of more than 400 staff
  members
  * Managing a fleet size of 54 Revenue Earning Vehicles consisting of
  tractors, trailers, bulldozers, excavators, Front-End-Loaders, Tanker
  Trucks
  * Responsible for the efficient utilization, maintenance and preservation of
  company assets valued at +/- USD 8 million.
  * Average annual budgeted EBIT (Earnings Before Interest & Tax) of +/-
  USD 3 million
  
  General Responsibilities & Duties:
  
  * Representing Unitrans in Tanzania with the mandate to retain and
  increase its footprint in East Africa including Tanzania
  
  * Review logistics performance with customer against targets, benchmarks
  and service agreements
  * Manage subcontractor activities, reviewing proposals, developing
  performance specifications, and serving as liaisons between
  subcontractors and organizations
  * Present proposed solutions to customers, management, and other
  stakeholders through written proposals and oral presentations
  * Develop and maintain positive business relationships with the customer's
  key personnel involved in all logistics activities
  * Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans,
  policies and budgets to maximize profits while continuously improving
  service delivery
  * Confer with logistics management teams to determine ways to optimize
  service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, and minimize cost
  * Create policies or procedures for logistics activities
  * Direct involvement at Trade Union meetings and negotiations to ensure
  harmonious human resources relationships
  * HR and IR Management
  * Weekly Financial Reporting & Budgeting
  * Operational Excellence
  * Tender on potential new business ;
  * Rate costing, rate escalations, contract renewal negotiations ;
  * KPI design and continuous improvement
