Vincent BERNATETS

TOULOUSE

En résumé

Six years abroad and founding a company developed my taste for challenges involving customers, innovation and strategy in a diverse international environment. I joined Airbus in 2001 and had several managerial positions from marketing and program to after-sales, before joining the Business Development and M&A team in Airbus Strategy division in 2011.

I live in Toulouse where I enjoy a great local environment with truly international openings.
My family and friends are to me essential, while meeting new people, and through them new views, cultures and places, is a real driver.

  • Airbus SAS - Business Development Director

  • Airbus SAS - Head of Aircraft Information Systems Operations

2007 - 2011 I led the operations of the A380 NSS/OIS, the first Aircraft Information System ever introduced to manage electronically both the airlines flight ops and maintenance operations.
After its market introduction to Singapore Airlines, Emirates Airways, Qantas Airways, Air France and Lufthansa, I am now to support the introduction to the airlines of similar new systems on the rest of the Airbus aircraft family, ranging from the A320 and A330 to the upcoming A350 XWB.
  • Airbus Operations SAS - Deputy Head of A380 Information System Development

2005 - 2007 Managing 150 engineers to complete the development of the A380 Onboard Information System called NSS/OIS. In particular, securing the industrial embodiment, the product acceptation by the test pilots and defining the product introduction steps.
  • Airbus SAS - Program and Business Development director

2001 - 2005 Multi-program role in the development of onboard information system and connectivity services for the passengers.
From strategy, business model, product/service definition, industrial partnership to success of the first sales to Qantas on their A380s, thus breaking the monopoly built by our main competitor.
  • IMANO S.A. - Directeur

1999 - 2001 I created and led a company of 9 people in Toulouse and Grenoble.
Its goals were both to develop a innovative (patented) product to inhibit mobile phone communications in certain closed areas (e.g. concert hall) and to propose information and community services via internet and mobile phones to outdoor sports adepts (from mountain climbers to free flyers and surfers).
  • Europe Aero Conseil - Marketing Director

1999 - 1999 I lead for the European Commission the technico-economical study of an aeronautical positioning service over the African continent, by complementing the GPS constellation with geo-stationary satellites and a ground infrastructure (so-called AGNOS).

I developed the marketing strategy to provide avionics systems solutions to airlines via STC (Supplemental Type Certificate), established a partnership with Honeywell and lead the first sales.
  • Ericsson Mobile Networks - Strategic Product Manager

1996 - 1999 I started in a technical support team covering both pre-sales and after-sales towards the mobile operators worldwide.
Upon a customer request, I had the opportunity to launch the first prepaid mobile network in Mexico. The activity ranged from identifying the need and defining the in-depth technical solution, to selecting and building a partnership with a start-up company in Irvine (US), to building the product range and spreading its sales through the first 10 operators.
  • Norwegian Institute for Telecommunications - Research & Development engineer

1994 - 1996 I developed the simulator of an aircraft navigation system using GPS satellites and a software measuring its performance all around the globe.
  • Stanford University - Researcher

1994 - 1994 In the Aeronautic & Astonautic Department of Stanford University, I developed the control law for the first aircraft solely using GPS satellites from navigation to precision landing.
