NIAMEY
Colonel major Mahamadou Abou Tarka is an officer of The Niger Armed Forces with extensive experience in dealing with failed or failing states.
With a background in disaster management he moved to human induced crises and became a high level officer in the government of Niger with the primary function of preventing a resumption of the conflict between Niger Touareg and government. In so doing he was instrumental in denying islamist terrorist in the Sahel from highjacking the demands of the Tuareg to gain a foothold in Niger.
