L'Oreal
- Ingenieur Qualite projet
PARIS2010 - maintenantIn charge of establishing internal specifications of raw materials for the group and of Quality Control of newly introducted suppliers in the Quality Department more particularly in the team "International Quality of Raw Materials" in the physical-chemistry lab.
Support to plants.
Negociation with suppliers
Working with 8 techniciens on a daily basis and managing transversal projets on various topics such as perfums and general safety, color management.
Bristol ChemLabs
- Sciences Ambassador
2008 - 2010Regular animations of outreach activities and workshops around Chemistry and the atmosphere in primary and secondary schools principally in the UK.
The role consists of running and animating workshops for 6-12 pupils during in schools (~once a month).
University of Bristol
- Laboratory Demonstrator
2007 - 2008Holding the role of Laboratory Demonstrator in School of Chemistry for 16 students, 3hrs/week, demonstrating physical-chemistry experiments and assessing students.
University of Bristol
- PhD Student
2006 - 2010In the objective of completing my knowledge in surface chemistry, develop my knowledge in environmental chemistry and become more fluent in English, I choose a PhD in the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry department of the University of Bristol (UK)
Thesis title: spectroscopic investigations of hygroscopic properties of atmospheric aerosol droplets containing inorganic salts and organics; particular focus on soluble and insoluble surface active species;
Methods:
Use of optical tweezers, Raman spectrocopy;
Static and dynamic tensiometers (Bubble pressure, Whilhelmy plate, De Nouï ring), contact angle measurements (droplet shape analysis).
Other Skills:
organisational and communication skill (took part in many talk, conferences, summer school, group meetings),
ability to work independantly
critical sense towards experimental results.
Colate-Palmolive Belgium
- Final Year Student
2005 - 2006Industrial Trainee in Formulation Technology Group (Colgate Palmolive, Herstal, Belgium).
Topics:
Optimisation of an existing handwashing liquid
Study of adsorption properties of non-ionic surfactants at the solid-liquid interface
Study on physico-chemical properties of mixed anionic/non-ionic system.
Development of a method to evaluate desorption/adsorption properties of formulations on solid surfaces.
Development of an analytical procedure specific for handwashing liquids.
Methods:
static and dynamic surface and interfacial tension measurements, foam tests, adsorption/desorption by dual polarisation interferometry, rheology tests.
Syngenta
- Student in Formulation Technology
Guyancourt 2004 - 2005Internship for a year in the Formulation Technology department of Syngenta (Bershire, UK).
Objective: improve an existing formulation.
The internship gave me further motivation to carry on in formulation Chemistry and for team work.
Influence of organic species (focus on surface active agents) on the thermodynamics and kinetics of droplets of aerosols using optical tweezers coupled with Raman spectroscopy.
