PROFILE

I’ve ISEB educated my-self to fulfill the passions for improvement, optimization, lateral thinking and scrutiny of details. Scrum experienced, I leverage any Protractor (beginner), RSpec (Capybara) - Cucumber (beginner), Selenium (beginner), Fitnesse, awk scripting, Excel knowledge to automate tasks.
I offer consistency and I enjoy the time-saving documentation task. I’m proud of having been defined “the cement which ties the group strongly” by two camp leaders of volunteer work camps (I’ve been in Germany, England, France and Netherlands).
My major strength is the ability to cover different roles, from pure QA software tester to scrum master to product owner and mentor. Also in the past I was covering different roles when playing football.
What I’m looking for is to specialize in writing automated tests, to manage people and (longer term) managing projects.

Entreprises

  • Notonthehighstreet.com - QA Engineer

2013 - maintenant For the first time I'm taking ownership of helping junior team members in improving their skills (but I have a long way to go as a manager).
I'm currently writing automated UAT tests with Protractor.
I've briefly approached Ruby (and Ruby on Rails). I've worked for 1 month with Gherkin and RSpec to start creating new automated tests, which at the moment are fully under the developers' responsibility.
I'm both black and white box testing every modification or new functionality introduced by the scrum team in the code base.
I take charge from time to time of scheduling urgent bug fixes when the PO is absent.
I share knowledge and experience through 10 minutes long presentations to the rest of QA team.
We have chosen to document our e-commerce website through MindMup with mind maps organized by page and by functionalities.
  • Pole Star Global - Test Analyst

2012 - 2013 I acquired the knowledge for setting up a complete open source automated test execution infrastructure: Hudson, SVN, Maven, Selenium Grid. I developed Selenium RC and Web Driver tests in Java for 2 months. I investigated Fitnesse, too. Tests were mainly manual against web interfaces.
  • Venere.com (Expedia) - Software Tester

2011 - 2012 From the integration-regression testing group I moved on to become the QA member of Scrum teams (SEO and usability team): tasks ranged from estimating the development effort according to business priorities to designing and performing functional and regression tests, both manually and automatically through Fitnesse and Selenium WebDriver (I configured the tests, not developed code), sometimes SoapUI. I took charge of noting down and demanding precise acceptance criteria. I contributed to increase Selenium regression suite, SVN stored, and Jira bug counter. I've used Firebug and Fiddler extensively. I tested web front end and back end.
  • Vodafone - Tester

Newbury 2009 - 2011 As a member of the invariance-change group I was in charge of integration, system and user acceptance testing of corporate mobile phone tariff plans. In a waterfall process we tested the specification for inconsistencies, estimated the effort, prepared the test plan, executed the manual tests, reported the failures in HP Quality Center and produced official reports. I've run SQL queries against an Oracle db.
  • Intesa SanPaolo - Problem manager

paris 2009 - 2009 I documented web applications developed on top of Documentum (a content management platform) and solved malfunctioning by applying DQL queries (similar to the SQL ones).
  • Vodafone - Developer

Newbury 2008 - 2009 I developed bits of code (running in UNIX environment) in order to rate phone/DSL calls or sms.
  • Telecom Italia Trento - Php developer

2007 - 2007 I developed a web application in php language for inserting and retrieving information from an Oracle database through SQL queries. I employed a Model-View-Controller paradigm and wrote JavaScript and AJAX code. I integrated it in eGroupware enterprise groupware suite.
