Please let me introduce myself. I am Asma Bouraoui from Tunisia. I graduated from the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Sousse in Tunisia in 2010.
My course of studies focused on ceramics manufacture and design, weaving, sculpture, and audio-visual training (film editing, assemblage, Photoshop processing and editing)
My choice for fine arts stems from my passion, since a very young age, for playing with colors, shapes and lines in order to highlight the aesthetic dimension of their potential.
My passion for colors and shapes and my fascination with the endless possibilities of assembling and blending them to come up with many aesthetic objects have shaped my life and my choice.
I am dedicated to transforming materials and using colors in a way that shows the bright side of the human mind and our capacity for creation. My background as a North African student rooted in the rich and powerful Arab culture and at the same time open to the European school and cultural exchange has enabled me to gain in flexibility, creativity and openness to new sources of inspiration.
My personal experience as a fine arts teacher at a kindergarten and a volunteer teacher at my hometown primary school over the last two years has been very rewarding: apart from gaining in endurance, the kids I’ve been training help me understand more and more how they perceive things and how they create and design their territory. They help me reach out and appreciate their untamed, unconditioned creativity and inspirational energy.
