I have an extensive academic background in biological sciences combined with an extensive practical work experience in research, especially in molecular and cellular biology fields. I also have a good knowledge of clinical trials and translational research.

As Research Associate, my main research area was the understanding of the hepatocarcinogenesis process. Before that, my main ophthalmic research area has so far been the study of the improvement and the survival of corneal transplants in organ culture. I also contributed to other projects, such as the study of the cell cycle regulation of human corneal endothelial cells and the improvement of corneas survival conserved in organ culture. Furthermore, once my Clinical Research Associate Diploma obtained during my PhD, I worked as main CRA in various Ophthalmological Clinical trials which allowed me to acquire a solid experience in clinical research and to deepen my competences in translational research.
Beyond my research activity, I have had the opportunity to teach Immunology and Infectiology to students nurses and so to obtain an enriching experience as lecturer.
My research experience in different topics gave me a good flexibility of mind, allowed me to learn and to improve many techniques in the domains of the molecular and cellular biology as well as to manage different Research project and clinical trials but also collaborators. I am highly motivated, hardworking and result driven, endowed with a good team spirit. Throughout my career, I have been thoroughly communicative and organized. I love scientific and clinical research, and this passion always led me to solving difficult challenges and achieving my aims.

    AIM
    My main research area was the understanding of the hepatocarcinogenesis process. We hypothesis that BARD1 isoform expression is responsible for marked chromosomal alterations observed in tumorigenic Liver Progenitor Cells (LPCs) and this directly drives the tumorigenic process. The aims of this project is: to determine BARD1 isoforms expression profiles in tumorigenic and non-tumorigenic LPCs; to demonstrate that forced over-expression or repression of BARD1 isoforms that are highly expressed or suppressed in tumorigenic LPCs will transform non-tumorigenic LPCs; and to demonstrate similar alterations in BARD1 isoforms occur in vivo. This experience in this team allowed me to improve my knowledge in carcinogenis, so in the cell cycle regulation, and also in the stem cells domain.

    AIM
    My main ophthalmic research area has so far been the study of the improvement and the survival of corneal transplants in organ culture. First of all, my aim was to evaluate the action of Rho-associated serine/threonine kinases (ROCKs), major effectors of Rho GTPase, in these cells in vitro and ex vivo. My research team and I demonstrated that ROCK activities enhance cell proliferation, negatively modulate cell migration and cell adhesion and therefore play a role in regulating corneal endothelial wound healing.

    • hTERT overexpression by lentiviral vector transduction on HCEC
    • the role of C/EBPd on the HCEC cell cycle regulation
    • the role of the environment on the cell fate of corneal epithelial stem cell

    AIM
    During my PhD. preparation I also contributed to other Ophthalmic projects, such as the study of the cell cycle regulation of human corneal endothelial cells and the improvement of corneas survival conserved in organ culture. For this, I developed several techniques which were not used in the laboratory before my arrival, an innovative device that allows gene electrotransfer. Furthermore, in order to evaluate the endothelial cell viability on predissected endothelium grafts by an eye bank and sent to a remote location I developed an original method for pan-corneal endothelial viability and toxicology assessment. I parallel to these studies, I looked for new compounds for deswelling organ culture corneas and new vital dyes to improve the quality control of the corneal endothelium of stored corneas
