Brian is a highly experienced management consultant and advisor with a strong background in Information Technology. He has worked in a range of sectors including banking, insurance, telecommunications and government. Brian has provided advice at Board, CEO and CIO level to a range of clients in areas such as development of strategies and architectures, business transformation, project and programme establishment, business case development and technology selection and procurement. Brian has also acted as an interim CIO - overseeing a series of major implementation projects.
For the past several years Brian has worked in the energy and utilities sector in Australia. He has worked for energy distribution network operators and market operators. Brian provides advice on the impacts of energy industry, technology and regulatory trends and directions.
On many occasions, Brian has acted as a facilitator - running working groups and committees with representatives from several different organisations and companies.
Examples of Brian's many projects and activities include:
•Providing guidance and direction to the deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI or smart meters) for an energy distributor.
•Coordination of a programme to implement national electricity B2B processes for multiple energy companies.
•Review of end-to-end business processes for a telecommunications company to increase efficiency and reduce cost through integration of IT systems.
•Providing high-level direction and oversight for a major programme of IT projects shared across two energy companies including an IT separation and data centre relocation, SAP ERP implementations and an SAP customer care and billing system deployment.
•Development of an overall IT systems architecture and governance structure for a major telecommunications company.
As a consultant and advisor, Brian helps organisations to set sound strategies and will also follow through to guide the execution of the strategies.
