I'm CSO of BioSenic, an innovative company with the objective of addressing important unmet medical needs in the areas of innate immunity, inflammation and organ/function repair.
I obtained a PhD in human physiology and physiopathology from Denis Diderot University in Paris in 2000. After two years at the start-up company Protexel, I obtained a full-time position as a research engineer at the University of Paris Cité. From 2005 to 2023, I was one of the PIs and laboratory co-director of the research team now called "Pathogeny and innovative treatments for chronic fibro-inflammatory diseases" at the Cochin Institute, a biomedical research centre associated with INSERM (Unit 1016), CNRS (UMR 8104) and Paris Cité University. I headed the conventional pre-clinical unit of the Cochin Institute for 10 years.
I have research experience in cancer biology, inflammation, immunity, target identification and drug discovery, and I directed dozens of preclinical studies in pathologies ranging from cancer to endometriosis, as well as in autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, chronic graft-versus-host disease) or pathologies involving the immune system, including wound healing, uveitis, sepsis, hepatitis and endometriosis. In addition, I have led numerous therapeutic projects from inception to preclinical development in cancer, gynaecology and autoimmune diseases for academic projects but also in collaboration with Vertex, Boiron, IPRAD, GYNOV and Medsenic. I have published more than 110 articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
I have been Vice President of the International Society of Antioxidants in Nutrition and Health, an international non-profit organisation, for two years and I'm now President of the Redox Medicine Society in 2023. Since 2016, I have been a member of the scientific committees and advisory boards of four international congresses: Paris Redox, Targeting Mitochondria, Targeting Microbiota, Skin Challenges.
