Project Scope:
Area 300 2 x Grinding and Drying Lines, 2 x Smelter Lines, 2 x HMFD building, Coal Plant, Refinery, Metal Shotting and Packaging
• Carry out various inspections and verifications for all mechanical and piping works, inclusive materials and equipment (both stationary and rotation). Ensure that the erection, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems has been carried out in accordance with contractual standards and specifications.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Receives instructions, documents, technical specifications and details regarding mechanical equipment and piping. Studies, analyses and establishes inspection requirements. Creates, uses and implements test forms and procedures.
• Follows inspection and test plan for the mechanical and piping works and carries out the various stage inspections and tests, records findings, prepares various reports.
• Liaison with the contractor’s inspection and construction staff for intermediate and final acceptance of work.
• Carry-out inspection of works of nominated contractors/suppliers as directed by approved inspection and test plan.
• Carries out inspection of materials/equipment, when required, prior to shipment to site and approves material release reports.
• Carries out inspection of materials/equipment received and approves material inspection reports.
• Liaise with construction staff to ensure that all required testing has been performed.
• Advise EK field staff of poor quality work and deficiencies detected during inspections and assist/advise on remedial works required.
• Report deviations from requirements of contract documents to QA/QC Manager
• Investigates/anticipates work problems and takes/recommends suitable action to correct deficiencies.
• Maintains and enhances sound relationship with contractors/suppliers and subordinates.
• Ensures that all paper work required (ie test and inspection reports, material inspection reports, etc.) has been completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure that copies are handed over to the WinPCS © technicians for input for final documentation and dossier acceptance.

3. Reporting to Senior Manager and Lead a man-count of 4 project engineers, 1 QA/QC Chief Engineer, 1 assistant project engineer, 6 piping supervisors, 6 QA/QC Supervisors and, close to 300 skilled and non-skilled workers.
4. Plan, arrange and coordinate the works of project engineers and assistant project engineer to expedite the construction process.
5. Coordinate with QA/ QC Chief Engineer to plan for the test packages and communicate the plans accordingly to subordinates.
6. Liaise with project engineers and Consultant on drawing discrepancies and variation orders.
7. To monitor the work progress on actual site and prepare the progress report for every week’s meeting with the client and top management.
8. Hold weekly meetings with subordinates and subcontractor’s to settle any arising disputes on manpower, material, method or machinery supplies.
9. Liaise with procurement and material controller to ensure material requirement is fulfilled promptly to prevent disruption in construction.
10. Coordinate with the safety personnel and hold regular spot checks to ensure that the safety requirements meet the standards set.

SQM – Lead Welding Inspector
1. In charge of the total fabrication job and lead a man count of four (4) welding inspector, one (1) NDT inspector, one (1) painting inspector and one (1) documentation clerk.
2. Coordinate and allocate inspection works to the welding inspectors on daily basis on dimensional, visual, non-destructive testing and painting inspections.
3. Monitoring of welding works in the workshop and spot checks to ensure that the welding is done in accordance with the approved WPS.
4. Perform dimensional, visual and non-destructive testing inspection works on daily basis.
5. Monitoring and reporting of daily manpower and production updates of the workshop on a weekly basis to Country Quality Manager.
6. Liaising with the subcontractor workshop fabrication and quality team and the design team on drawing discrepancy and Shop Technical Queries.
7. Reviewing and compilation of all inspection records and preparation of final handover documents for clients prior to delivery of components.
