Activities/Competence:
. Head (since 2010) of the Research Centre “Sustainable Transportations and Mobility” from the University of Valenciennes,
. Head (2006-2009) of the LAMIH Laboratory of Industrial and Human Automation, Mechanical engineering and Computer Science (University of Valenciennes - CNRS UMR 8530),
. Head of the CISIT project (CPER 2007-2013) for the development of an International Campus for Safety and Intermodality in Transportations (12 Research Labs, budget 46 M€), (www.cisit.org).
Research Interests:
Behavior and fracture of materials and structures submitted to multi-axial loadings at large rates of strain. This includes the development of test facilities for experiments and modeling at various scales. Materials and structures of concerns are metallic materials, cellular materials and connectors (rivets, spot-welds). For application to biomechanics of impact and trauma prediction, hard human tissues (cortical and trabecular bones) are also of concerns.
