Graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (IFP - MSc. Petroleum Geophysics), Florent Bertini joined Total in 1996 as an Exploration Geophysicist in New Ventures Division.

Since 2001, he was assigned mostly in Total E&P affiliates, where he was successively in charge of Geophysics (reservoir characterization, 4D, complex well geosteering, interpretation) during 4 years in Angola inside Block 17 team (Girassol Development asset), then during 3 years in Norway inside Hild Development asset, mainly on multi-azimuths and wide-azimuths seismic imaging problematic leading to the decision to develop this complex HP field and finally spent 4 years in Indonesia as Chief Geophysicist, in charge of both 'Operations' and 'Seismic Reservoir Characterisation & Methodology' teams, leading to a reactivation of Geophysics discipline in Mahakam core-business area.

Back in France since summer 2011, he leads “Seismic Reservoir Characterisation & Methods” team for Total E&P in the Field Development Division.

    2004 - 2007 • Following-up of Acquisition, PZ PSDM Processing, & performing seismic Interpretations of OBC wide-azimuth PSDM & Streamer multi-azimuth PSDM/PSTM for building of BRENT (Jurassic) and FRIGG (Eocene) reservoir geomodels.
    (1st operated OBC wide-azimuth & Streamer multi-azimuth surveys for Total group).
    • Phases-I / II well patterns & FDP design with Reservoir & Drilling teams.

    • Implantations, 2G monitoring & post-mortems of >30 complex wells.
    • Quantitative Interpretation of 1st Girassol HR4D and integration towards gemodel v6 (1st operated HR4D for Total group).
    • Originator and co-leader of "Well Design & Geosteering Research Project" under Sismage. Granted by a Total EP Innovation price / Now used in many projects at Total Group perimeter.
