En résumé

Senior leader in high-tech industry, recognized for turning around businesses into profitable multi-million $ ventures

Business and Technology - an essential mix

I started my career in technology where I excelled in finding the right combinations of hardware and software for my clients...and in providing successful, state-of-the-art solutions for their products.

My strong technical background sharpened my ability to understand and evaluate my customers' needs and to help them to innovate in an ever more complex technology environment. But I quickly realized that there was an important missing element in my experience...the business side of what my customers and employers needed to achieve.

So I stepped into marketing, sales, and other business leadership roles and developed my skills by achieving turnarounds and divisional growth. I know what it takes to successfully conduct a project facing time and cost constraints without sacrificing quality.

A recent example of combining business and technology is a project I led in India, successfully putting in place a complex strategic program that:
• generated massive revenues
• created a new product platform
• contributed to the development of a strategic remote site of the company

I am truly passionate about playing a key strategic role in business development. My goal is to reach new horizons in combining technical savvy and innovative business leadership skills to optimize the productivity of human resources and to boost my employer’s bottom line. I enjoy interacting directly with the customers - it allows me to better understand their requirements and to find the perfect solution for them.

My career has spanned numerous countries: Singapore, France, India, Italy, Belgium, and others. I am fluent in French, Italian, and English. I have basic working skills in Portuguese (read and spoken).

  • ST MICROELECTRONICS - Senior Regional Marketing and Business Development Manager - Asia Pacific Region

2010 - maintenant When I was promoted to this new regional managerial position, I first had to quickly define the regional business strategy and the priorities and then built a solid, high-talented team around my vision. With an initial team of only 8 regional reporting staff spread all over Asia Pacific region, I managed to accomplish numerous things:

    • I grew the business revenues by 50% over 2 years for the industrial, consumer, medical, automotive, and distribution application segments.
    • I created a new business worth $7M by focusing on leveraging product and brand awareness in the market.
    • I defined, developed and deployed go-to-market turnkey solutions that played a key role in capturing regional market share. I also deployed strategic new application solutions worth $3M.
    • I brought in about $6M in revenue growth by creating a sustainable new business, breaking into the market, and eliminating the existing competition.
  • ST MICROELECTRONICS - Product Marketing Manager

2009 - 2010 In this role, I oversaw the Asia and America markets. I focused on creating a new product roadmap, new device proposals, and follow up the developments with an emphasis on technical marketing and new market development in a variety of areas: automotive, touch sensing, and low-power applications.

In less than a year, I defined two new products that brought in an approximately $100M revenue per year...each. I also developed and supported a car radio automotive business in Asia that captured 80% market share and brought in an additional $18M in revenue
  • ST MICROELECTRONICS - Senior Product Design Manager

2006 - 2009 I began as a Design Technical Manager with 20 direct reports. It was a highly technical and managerial, localized role in the New Delhi region. In July 2008, I was promoted to the Senior Product Design Manager role. My number of reports doubled, and many of my responsibilities carried over. I managed the transfer of activities from Asia to Europe (Italy and France in particular).

These roles saw a few of my largest achievements that help the company to remain successful until now:

    • I introduced a new family of devices (microcontrollers) that were based around major technological breakthroughs. This played a critical role in establishing the company's leadership position in the market. More than 1.2B devices have been produced and $400M in revenue has been generated.
    • I captured $200M in revenue with a cutting-edge product platform architecture specification that quickly went global.
    • I earned a company award by overhauling a failed situation into a company-first, successful silicon development that expanded the product portfolio.
  • ST MICROELECTONICS - Technical Program Manager

2003 - maintenant I oversaw 50 staff members across Europe and India in this role dedicated to the technical development (software and hardware) of a multimedia device for the mobile phone handset industry. The company has produced more than 250M units and generated more than $280M revenue.

As is the theme with my later roles, I created synergies between the Asia and Europe teams to enable the sharing of knowledge between groups.

This was also the position that led directly to the successful silicon development for which I earned two company awards as a recognition of the outstanding results on this project. It began with the development of the company-first two megapixel multimedia video co-processor device for global key corporate customers.
  • ST MICROELECTRONICS - DESIGN PROJECT LEADER

2000 - 2003 Led the "system on a chip" project for the camcorder device consumer market. Oversaw 18 engineers across India, the UK, and France as the technical leader and project coordinator. Completed the market product requirements and technical feasibility analysis; produced the system specification. Defined and submitted the functionality (IP) proposal and quality acceptance procedures, improving design quality and shortening development cycle time
  • PHILIPS ITCL - DESIGN ENGINEER

1999 - 2000 Designed CD-DVD and USB products as a design engineer at Philips ITCL (International Technology Centre of Leuven)
