OPTARA Project 700 millions EUR
Job dimensions.
Provide technical support to the OPTARA Project for rotating equipments (65 items).
Assure the correct application of PROJECT specifications.
Review and approve EPC Contractor documentation and work on rotating equipment issues.
Review the requisitions by focusing on the most critical equipments, according to the complexity of the machines, but also by
including the risks linked to the Project itself, sourcing in particular. Follow-up fabrication at vendor shop (Nuovo Pignone, Elliott,
Flowserve, Burckhardt...), and construction on field (assistance on site).
Activities.
Review existing Rotating Equipment specifications and advise R&C/IND/TEC of any conflicts with Project requirements or
objectives. Ensures that Project specifications are applied and implemented by the EPC contractor, however when need assist
EPC contractor in the preparation of deviations requests and obtain the necessary validation of deviation requests via the
OPTARA Engineering Manager.
Provide rotating equipment technical support and review of Engineering technical documentation (datasheet, P&ID, MDS, etc.),
Request for Quotes, and bid evaluations.
Analyze TBT in detail and attend Vendor bid clarification meetings to provide TOTAL technical support of rotating equipments.
Interpret conflicts between Engineering Standards and equipment offerings.
Assist Project Managers in deviation requests, vendor recommendations and equipment selection.
Monitor EPC study progress for the rotating machine discipline and advise OPTARA Engineering Manager on possible resolutions.
Provide input for Rotating Machines to Technical Queries issued to and from FEED Contractor
Context and environment.
Based in the offices of the EPC Contractor of the lot 2 (Technicas Reunidas - Madrid) but also follow the work performed by the
EPC of lot 3A (FWI Milan). In addition, participate to the Inspection visits of the most critical equipments at Vendor shops.
Accountabilities.
Responsible for the review and approval of rotating equipment specifications for the Project. Also technical support relating to
the obtaining of budget quotes of all pumps, compressors, blowers, fans and mechanical issues on motors.
Responsible for challenging the rotating equipment selection on the Project in order to meet OPTARA specifications but with a
strong focus on cost effectiveness of the installations. Participate in the review of these budget quotes in order to advise the
Project estimator on the completeness and accuracy of the budget quotes.
