En résumé

About my background, I am a plant biologist with interest in plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular genetics and plant breeding. I have been often involved in multidisciplinary research projects. I graduated with a M.Sc. degree in cell biology and plant physiology from the University of Tours, in France with microbiology and biotechnology as additional interests. I came to the Netherlands for a traineeship at Leiden University and TNO Food because I appreciated a challenge abroad. I used techniques in molecular biology during that traineeship. I was granted a Ph.D. position at Leiden University’s Section of Molecular and Developmental Biology, where I was able to expand my laboratory experience substantially. I studied caspase-3 like proteases in plant cells and their role in programmed cell death (PCD) by means of different methods in molecular and cell biology, as well as methods in biochemistry and biotechnology. After those years in Leiden, I worked first in Reims, then in Foxhol (Groningen) and then in Wageningen. At the Laboratory of Stress, Defenses and Plant Reproduction, in Reims, I established protocols to get doubled haploids in both ornamental and medicinal plants. Later, at Solanic (a daughter company of Avebe), I purified enzymes from potato tuber for food and pharmaceutical purposes. At Wageningen UR, I worked on a NWO-ECHO project to obtain nylon precursors accumulated in potato, a bio-based project. Then I became technical account manager at Ceradis B.V. in Wageningen. At Ceradis I conducted experiments with a group of scientists and technicians to test different fungicides and fertilizers all over the world. I collected the information from those tests world-wide. After collecting the results, I organized, analyzed and interpreted the data, and acted on the results and future tests and on the commercialization of the products. Later I reported them to the analyst and formulation manager team and to our director. For Ceradis I was involved in agricultural product development with DSM Food Specialties the university of Wageningen.

What I value are the company’s contributions to human health and to environmental sound production methods.

Today I work as programme advisor for the Sociotext Foundation in Veghel,
