The Company NUMELEC SA started in 1947 (In Europe (France, Switzerland) with Roger Wahl perfecting multichannel analyzers near Paris. The Atomic Center had no commercial outlet at that time to commercialize the equipment invented by the center and this is how NUMELEC started.

ELEC = Electronic
Later on NUMELEC bought a company called SEIN which was a specialist of image processing. The NU of Nuclear became NU of Numerical. In 1968, Numelec was incorporated in a SA near Versailles France. In 1977 Numelec Switzerland was created to start international maintenance. In 1981 Numelec was bought by the socialist French government of Mr. Mitterrand in order to group the French imaging Company. Numelec Switzerland took over there the international organization and there are nowadays more than 43 Numelec throughout the world mainly in French speaking countries.
The Company NUMELEC has also affiliated companies such as Leman France (hospital engineering) and Eye Optic Care (The Company specializing in ophthalmology).
