My recherche is to examine the role and evolution of the landscape project in the reuse of contaminated industrial sites and how the treatment of pollution affects the specifics of the landscape project. The problematic is: what is the role and evolution of landscape projects in the context of the rehabilitation of polluted industrial sites? With respect to this issue, three assumptions are made:
• Depending on the understanding of pollution forms, due to changing environmental concerns, thinking about removal of contaminants in landscape projects becomes a fundamental concept in the early twenty-first century, for the rehabilitation of industrial sites.
• Remediation techniques guide the process of the landscape project.
• The réhabilitation of industrial sites hosting landscape projects is at the heart of the 3 pillars of sustainable development. It interrogates the essence of the landscape project and the role of its actors (supervisor, population policy).
This thesis takes place at the interface of three areas of knowledge: the evolution of the landscape project, the treatment of industrial sites, pollution and environmental remediation topics.
To verify the hypotheses mentioned above, three sites of the Normandy region are analyzed while studying projects implemented, and carrying out researches on the development of remediation techniques.
In a more specific way, questioning the transformation of landscape projects in association with the development of technology, this thesis will take new orientation of process of landscape project and encourage cooperation on ways to cooperate between researchers, engineers, landscapers architecteur and planners.
