Ivan Yordanov joined the Design Engineering Department of Sensata Technologies Inc. as a Design Engineer in May 2015 to investigate the drift phenomenon at DARTS and CTS high temperature sensors using different state-of-the-art techniques.
One of his research project was focused on the investigation the root-causes for the change of the linear electrical resistance of Pt meander above 850°C in DARTS 200 type HTS, using newfangled methods for characterisation. The DARTS 200-D sensors are used by Volkswagen, Daimler, Ford and General Motors for protection of the engine and exhaust components.
Ivan Yordanov has completed his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry of Materials under the supervision of Dr Svetlana Mintova at the Catalysis and Spectrochemistry Laboratory of University of Caen Lower Normandy (Caen, France). His Ph.D. thesis was focused on the development of new synthetic approaches for the preparation of metal-doped porous matrixes (zeolites and Metal-Organic Frameworks).
In 2011 Ivan joined the Institute of Materials Engineering at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (Sydney, Australia) as a research scientist. His research project was focused on the development of a one-step approach for the synthesis of nanosized metal doped zeolite A crystals by an in situ incorporation of different Me-EDTA – complexes (Me – Co, Ni, Cu, Gd and Eu), as a co-templating and doping agent.
