After 3 years working as a consultant in Computer Aided Manufacturing, I have joined Essilor International in 1988, and contributed to the group development until now. This collaboration helped me to develop 4 main areas of competency :
• Production systems, managing information system projects for production and distribution planning and then managing Dijon plant production (300 persons) for 3 years.
• Quality, with the certification of Dijon plant and its related engineering activities. This brought me to Essilor headquarters to take the lead of quality activities for WW operations plants.
• International relationship and organization were then a natural skills development during the 6 years passed within WW Operations and then within Corporate Purchasing.
• Global sourcing through the lead of the International Sourcing department (Global sourcing for Raw materials, Equipments, Consumables) as VP. The implementation of purchasing categories and the related strategies resulted in a sustained yearly cost reduction of 2 to 3% from 2007 thru 2013.
This position in global purchasing brought me to use those competencies to activate sourcing synergies provided by the intensive external growth of the Essilor group. More recently focusing on those strategic activities I presently manage the development of the group “Make or buy” decision process for the Lens business.
