I am currently in the process of starting my own Communication Company in Paris and hope to bring a life-long multicultural communication experience to individuals or companies to help fix, set or manage their external development policies. (Strategic and editorial advice, Crisis Communication, [“Fix & Fire” Management], Media Training)
Until recently a Senior Correspondent for France2 Network News, I have covered foreign affairs for nearly 40 years, mostly in Less Developed Countries and as a war correspondent.
I also have commented for various outlets such as NPR, BBC-4, CNN, AL-JAZEERA, FRANCE24, and M-6.
My field reporting took me to VIETNAM in the early seventies, LEBANON, ISRAEL, PALESTINE, NORTHERN IRELAND and AFRICA in the eighties and to the GULF and YUGOSLAVIA in the early nineties and to western Cambodia for an exclusive stint on KHMER ROUGE territory in 1998. In 2003, at the outset of the War in IRAQ I reported from Iraqi KURDISTAN.
From 92 to 95, I was France2’s WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT, astride the Bush sr. and the first Clinton Administration.
From 1997 to 2007 I regularly traveled to IRAN and also reported on and off on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Born a French citizen in western Algeria, I feel much at ease anywhere near the Mediterranean. I had the honor to be Jury President in the News reporting category for the 2013 PRIXMED, the coveted All Mediterranean documentary prize awarded by “Centre Méditerranéen de la Communication Audiovisuelle”, CMCA now hosted at Marseilles ‘newborn “MUCEM” Museum, a seaside contemporary architectural jewel celebrating both Mediterranean and European culture.
I now live in Paris, teach journalism on and off to English and French speaking students.
I seek sanity in the Vaucluse and confess to a soft spot for «black praliné». A few years back I produced « Chocolate Fever », a 26 minutes film for France Televisions’ popular «Envoyé Spécial» Magazine.
