Redesign of the company sub ledger accounting information system.
Migration from an “in house” solution based on IBM OS/390 and DB2 to Linux/Oracle/SAP.
Ad hoc solution built-in based on several tools: Orchestration, EAI, Accounting suite (Integration & audit trail), Rejects management, Supervision.
Team of 45. Project revenue: 300 K€ / month.
Customer required processing:
- 500000 records per hour side to side:
incoming EBCDIC files, enrichment, accounting transformation, SAP IDOC creation
- 20 million rejects per peak activity night
Solution design relied on computing farms and a shared supplementation database model, rule based, end-user maintained, to provide materials for EAI and Accounting tools to perform the required transformations.

Permitted the solution and especially the EAI component to proceed up to 1000 database controls per minute on a single IBM Power6 processor and 64 GB of RAM.

Expected volume of data for first year was 2.5 GB increasing by 7% each year. Customer required keeping record of known medicine positions for 10 years, while processing information requests (Web Service) within 10 seconds.

To be ready for the French health insurance market deregulation, customer required connecting the relationship engagement application with its legacy applications to consolidate the most accurate customer profile. The solution has been designed for coordinating the data exchanges.

Referential was about 30 million policy holders large.

In close relation with re-sellers or customer teams, distribution contract negotiations, pre-sales, trainings and assistance around the BULL mainframe supervision software running on MS/DOS PC.
Technical referent (hardware & software) for distribution contracts: PTC Ltd (UK/Italy), Nokia Data (Finland), BULL subsidiaries across Europe and BULL HN (USA). The software has been subject to a joint marketing agreement with BULL. It was put on the BULL's product catalog and promoted worldwide. Over 1000 copies were sold around the world in five years.
R&D
Creation of the software suite: SOS8, SOS7 then SOS2. PC-AT based, the first versions handled unattended BULL GCOS8/7 mainframe console operations, including phone alerts towards on duty technicians. SOS2 did the same but while supervising eight mainframes simultaneously.
