- Experience of a range of cultures and environments including conflict and post-conflict countries with the ability to communicate and negotiate concisely at all levels.
- Overall management of Security and logistics.
- Management and training of up to 9 expatriates and 124 national staff.
- Negotiation and implementation of service contracts e.g. transport, clearing agent agreements, and equipment suppliers’ coordination of all equipment to the field team sites.
- Monitoring of all procurement, including local import (customs and tax procedures).
- Arrange and coordinate the distribution of supplies by land and air
- Management of programme inventory control (regular audits)
- Liaison and coordination with local authorities (governmental), military, UN agencies on security and logistics issues.
- Communications management (HF, VHF, satellite phones, internet) in respect of local laws and procedures.
- Monitor security situation in the field, organize daily security briefings, information sharing with Security actors.
